Gununggan the Wayang Fine Art

      Ok let's talk about "Gununggan".As you can see the picture above a ship and the top have the shape like a fan.It is call "Gununggan".It is a big fan like a mountain.From the stories of "Wayang Kulit",the entrance to the palace of gununggan is guarded by 3 monsters equipped with bows and arrows and also sword.Ok,the "Gununggan" is one of the prop you need in "Wayang " presentation.Inside the  gununggan have insects of all types of species.As you can see from my web.http://tumadipatri.webs.com  the first  painting is the garden  inside the "gununggan" .As you can see i draw butterflies,worms,croaches etc.This painting is large ,I can occupy alot of insects.Jus kiddin.That is why some of my painting have insects , all connected to the imaginary stories of "wayang kulit'.
When "Wayang " or puppet begin to play, the "Gununggan" is the first you will see because it is an introduction that the show will begin .Once the play starts,it will move to a side and will reappear again for the next episode.

More about "Wayang"............Episode 1

Before I begin to tell you more about "Wayang" or puppets.Please forgive me the grammatical mistakes in this blog.Remember,I'm just an artist and not a writer.Actually,I'm really lazy to do blog because most of my time spend and searching of ideas  to create a theme for my art piece.Most of my friends and buyers tell why "wayang"?The answer I'm Javanese my heritage, all my passion comes from "Wayang Kulit".,why not I interprete it art way.I will try to tell where the history of wayang and names of different type of puppet in this blog.

Firstly,  "wayang" or puppets  originated in Kraton Surakarta (Kraton means Palace in Indonesia).Let me explain more in Kraton,the javanese people find the "wayang" are important heritage to them .The experts in "wayang" all comes from kraton people itself.They have the complete props and whoever wants to learn the different aspect of "wayang" all in "kraton".

"Dalang" is the person who recite the stories . It was me ,but creating the picture story in my art piece.

BATIK 2 Night Stage

The atmosphere on the dance stage,full of colorful lights and surrounding of the smokers where all types of people appeared in the mist of the night.There are people who were dancing,listening to music and drinking.Most of them were part-timers as waitress to earn extra income.Some of them had no choice,to feed the siblings or kids. 
White

Red
represent the surrounding place with dim lights and gloomy place.

How to Batik ,6 steps to know....

1.  Standby all the material needed for batik.For example batik color,wax,brushes,chanting etc....
2. Heat up the wax
3. Staple all side of wooden rectangle wood with cotton.
4. Draw or trace pictures onto the cotton
5. Using Chanting, follow the drawing outline.picture.
6. Lastly, color the picture.
